As part of a joint venture, Thiess is helping to design and construct the Victorian Desalination Project, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the state’s history. The team is designing and constructing the reverse osmosis desalination process plant, associated marine tunnels and structures, an 84km water transfer pipeline and a co-located underground powerline to supply power to the plant.

Thiess will draw on the expertise of its dedicated Tunnelling division to construct the marine tunnels, and the strength of its long-standing relationship with Nacap to build the transfer pipeline.

Following construction and commissioning of the plant, Thiess, in partnership, will operate and maintain the plant for the remainder of the 30-year project term.
